A team of scientists deployed a small army of 120 "argo floats" in the ocean between New Zealand and South America as part of a global program, led by Australia's CSIRO and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, to monitor and measure the effects of climate change. The floats will measure the ocean's salinity, circulation and temperature and feed data back to scientists via satellite. Read the full story:
